lid. Thus, for example, Brug (1985: 149) points to the depiction of a Libyan headdress on the lid from Tomb 562 at Tell el-Farʿah (S). This maintenance of identity in the Egyptian army manifested in traditional headdress and hairdo is well attested to in Egyptian reliefs showing Sherden, Libyans, and others serving from the days of Ramses II.
